B.B King the King of The Blues

B.B King birthday blog - The Blues Room

16 September 1925 – 14 May 2015

Today is 16 September 2020. It would have been B.B King’s 95th birthday!  To say thank you to Mr King and celebrate his life we want to share two videos with you…

The first is a clip from a feature-length documentary called Sing Sing Thanksgiving (we recommend watching the whole documentary!), recorded in 1973 in a prison outside New York City.  B.B King claims that this was his best performance ever!

The second is one of our favourite B.B King videos ever, showing a duet with Ruth Brown in The Blues Summit Concert,1993.

Happy birthday, B.B King! Thank you for the music.
