Lorenzo Bergamino - Bluesology Bite Sized - The Blues Room

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

How do time signatures, phrasing and song structure influence the way we dance—and how can understanding them make us better teachers?

In this practical introduction to music theory, specially designed for blues dance teachers, you will explore rhythm, subdivisions, common musical forms, the ‘blue note’, and more.

Drummer and percussionist, Lorenzo Bergamino, draws on many years of teaching percussion and playing for dancers to make musical concepts clear, accessible and immediately useful.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your own musical understanding or gain new tools to help your students connect more deeply with the music, this workshop will help you move beyond simply counting—and start hearing the music you dance to in a whole new way.
