Continue your exploration of Latin rhythms in blues music. Following on from our Latin Blues: Vol I course, this course recaps the Habanera rhythm and introduces you to four new rhythms: the tresillo, rumba, cinquillo and son clave.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Identify the Tresillo rhythm in the music, dance it solo and with a partner
- Identify the Habanera rhythm in the music, dance it solo and with a partner
- Identify the Rumba rhythm in the music, dance it solo in a number of different ways, and add these variations to your partner dancing
- Identify the Cinquillo rhythm in the music, dance it solo and add specific body shaping to your steps. You will then be able to apply this to your partner dancing.
- Identify the Son Clave rhythm in the music, dance it solo and with a partner.
- Mix between different rhythms and have a playful rhythmic conversation as your dance!
